It’s summertime and you know what that means. It’s a time for smoothies, juices, ice cream and everything in between. Including açai bowls! I love açai bowls, but I feel like they’re something that I would make on a special occasion and not every day. The best thing about açai bowls are how creative you can get with your toppings.
- In a blender put the blueberries, frozen banana, and acai powder and your choice of liquid. (bonus: adding an avocado to the base, creates a smooth and creamy texture and adds in healthy fats)
- Blend until smooth and place in a bowl (I find wooden bowls work best for acai bowls because they don’t melt as quickly)
- Top it off. Add your choice of toppings from the list above or any other toppings you’d prefer and enjoy!
Tip: keeping your bowl in the freezer while you prepare your toppings helps keep your base from melting
