A couple of weekends ago, my friend and I had the opportunity to head to Chicago, Illinois for a mini vacation. Despite our first day being cold, wet and windy we had a great time exploring the city and seeing the sights. Of course we had to go check out Millennium Park and Cloud Gate aka The Bean. We also did the River Walk, Magnificent Mile, and one of my favorites The Lincoln Park Conservatory.

Because we were only there for a weekend we had to try to cram as much as possible into those two days. The first night we were exhausted from all of the walking that we did, but it was worth it to just walk around, take pictures and explore. I lived in Illinois once a year ago for work, but didn’t have much of an opportunity to go into the city as much as I wanted to.

That Sunday, the weather was beautiful! It was still a bit chilly, but the sun was shining. My friend and I decided to do some more shopping that morning and then grab some frozen Giordano’s pizzas to take back with us.

Even though it was a short trip, it was a perfect weekend getaway and I had so much fun. Next time I visit Chicago, I’d like it to be in the summer time so that I can enjoy all of the outdoor activities that Chicago has to offer.
