I love snacks and snacking! Snacking is my favorite past time!
Ok not really– but I do love snacking! I feel like I eat a lot, mostly because I’m snacking throughout the day. Sometimes finding a healthy snack can be a challenge. It’s so easy to just reach for the bag of chips or a handful of cookies. Especially when your hungry and don’t feel like putting much effort into your snack food. When you just need something to satisfy you before the “hangry” sinks in.
I love these no bake protein bites because they are a quick little snack that actually leaves me feeling satisfied. I like to pack three or four with me sometimes when I know I’ll be somewhere for a while and not have the chance to get some food. A few of these with some water, and I’m set! However, I just eat these as a snack to keep me going until my next meal. I wouldn’t load up on them.
1/2 cup peanut butter (almond butter works too!)
1 cup dry oatmeal
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/2 cup or chocolate chip (optional)
1/3 cup honey or agave nectar
1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
First, start by gathering all of your ingredients together and putting them into a large mixing bowl.
Next mix the ingredients together by using a spoon, or your hands. I like to use my hands because I feel that it makes it easier for me to make sure everything is being mixed well.
Afterwards, place the bowl in the fridge and let the mixture chill for about 30 minutes. Letting the mixture chill first, makes it easier to shape them into little balls.
After 30 minutes in the fridge, take out the bowl and begin to shape the mixture into little bite sized balls about 1 inch each. You can choose to make them bigger than an inch, or smaller. This mixture makes about 20+ peanut butter protein bites, depending on the size of each one.
Afterwards just place the no bake peanut butter bites into a Tupperware or baggie and store them in the fridge. You can also store them in the freezer if you’d like.
I love these no bake peanut butter bites because they’re super easy to make, and really yummy too! They satisfy my sweet tooth, without me feeling guilty, and they make the perfect snack to go! Normally in my house, they’re gone within 2-3 days because they’re so amazing! I hope you enjoy them too!
